“loving. It is slow, it seems long. It is short.
C’est lent, ça semble long. C’est court.
Un jour spécial, j’étais assis sur ma terrasse à Rome, lorsque je remarquais la demi-lune dans une position verticale très rare. C’était le 9 septembre, hasard, l’anniversaire de ma grand-mère, née en 1900. Le ciel était encore clair, les voix de gens dans les rues suggéraient une soirée sereine de fin de l’été.
Mon humeur était celle d’une femme au cœur brisé, qui réfléchissait à son amour perdu.
J’étais là, cette étrange moitié de la lune était là. J’ai observé la lente traversée de la lune sur ce qui me semblait être «mon ciel». Je me voyais comme un petit individu dans un petit endroit, dans un temps petit, vivant un petite vie mais avec un grand sentiment, alors que j’étais reliée à des dimensions de distance et de temps bien plus grandes. J’ai commencé à penser à l’amour et au temps.
À mes yeux, cette image était spectaculairement belle. C’était ça, ce que l’amour signifiait pour moi en ce moment même : c’est lent, ça semble long. C’est court. Le travail artistique, qui est né de cette expérience, est la vidéo que j’ai appelée loving (aimer).“

On a special day, I was sitting on my terrace in Rome, while I noticed the half-moon in a very rare vertical position. It was on the 9th September, by chance my grandmother’s birthday, born in 1900. The sky was still bright, voices of people on the streets suggested a serene late-summer evening.
My mood was that of a woman with a broken heart, while reflecting about her own, lost love.
I was here, that strange half part of the moon was there. I observed the moon’s slow crossing over what seemed to me “my sky”. I saw myself as a little individuum on a little place, at a little time, living a little life but with a big sentiment, while I was related to such greater dimensions of distance and time. I started to think about love and time.
In my eyes, that image was dramatically beautiful. It was that, what Love meant for me in this very moment: It is slow, it seems long. It is short. The artistic work, which came out from that experience is the video, I called loving.“
