About

Oratory Chapel

The chapel dates back to the 16th century and gave its name to the rue de l’Oratoire in Clermont-Ferrand. After being put to various uses, in 1992 it became a venue for the dissemination and experimentation of video and digital art. Since 2008, VIDEOFORMES has supported emerging contemporary creation (local, national and international) by making the Chapelle a venue for residencies and exhibitions in the field of hybrid and digital arts (video, visual arts, music, images, live performance, etc.). Each residency gives rise to a VIDEOBAR, a presentation of works in progress and a convivial meeting with the public.

Galery / Videobars

Since 2008, VIDEOFORMES has been developing a mission to unearth new talent by turning the Galerie de l’Art du Temps (Oratory chapel) into a place of experimentation, a trans-disciplinary creative laboratory for short exploratory performances.
VIDEOBARS offer artists a space for experimentation and encounters with the public, in a convivial setting conducive to exchange. The performances presented are original and often one-offs. They may combine video art and other artistic disciplines.
