Cécile Coulon was born in 1990. She studied Modern Literature in Clermont-Ferrand. At the age of seventeen, she published her first novel, Le Voleur de vie, followed by a collection of short stories, Sauvages, published by Éditions Revoir, a publisher from Auvergne. In addition to Steinbeck, Bret Easton Ellis, Proust, she is passionate about cinema (The Night of the Hunter, The Big Lebowski) and music (Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry). In 2010, she signed with Viviane Hamy, and published Méfiez-vous des enfants sages. Her second novel, Le Roi n’a pas sommeil (The King is not asleep), has been a great success with the critics since its release last December.
As a cultural service of Clermont University, the SUC is a space for artistic practices, through its workshops and courses, intended primarily for students of the Auvergne academy. Various fields are offered, such as visual arts, cinema, dance, writing, reading, music and theater.
