On March 29, VIDEOFORMES presents an excerpt from the work of artist Camille Entratice in partnership with Epicentre Factory, a third place of creative and solidarity economy in Clermont-Ferrand. Camille Entratice will propose ‘Les lignes courbes’, mixing video and photographs in the premises of Epicentre Factory. The evening will continue with a moment of exchange with the artist over a drink.
“In the forest of Colettes, the gorges of the Bouble, on the edge of country paths, teenage girls let me into their world. They are between eleven and fifteen years old. Together we put words and fix images on what constitutes their beings in becoming. In this game of construction, between fears and dreams, a dreamlike and singular territory takes shape in the background.
This work mixes texts and photographs. It was realized between January and March 2016 within the framework of a VIDEOFORMES/DRAC D’AUVERGNE Residency at the Jean-Baptiste Desfilhes College in Bellenaves.
Camille Entratice is a French-Brazilian video photographer. Following a DNAP at the Ecole Supérieure d’Arts de Rueil-Malmaison, she joined the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d’Arles from which she graduated in 2009.
Her work revolves around issues related to identity and memory, to distant origins when they emerge. How does the past manifest itself through bodies? Where and how does it emerge? Through the work of the image, she explores a certain relationship to the world between fiction and investigation, mixing the intimate and the poetic with documentary research.
Within the framework of the VIDEOFORMES/ DRAC d’Auvergne Artist’s Residence in schools, she stayed for two months at the Jean-Baptiste Desfilhes College in Bellenaves to pursue her personal work and to conduct workshops with the students around photography.
