From June 15 to 20, Félix Côte will be in residence at the Chapelle de l’Oratoire, working on his project entitled folk memorials.
This project consists of a series of sculptural and digital installations aimed at documenting contemporary forms of resistance in places where new technologies constrain, monitor, and exert control.
folk memorials takes the form of bas-relief sculptures combined with an observation device featuring a moving camera. Playing on the relationship between observer and observed, the camera is directed toward the textures, contours, and irregularities of the material. During his residency at the Chapelle de l’Oratoire, Félix Côte will experiment with the mobile camera system and the real-time processing of the video feed it generates.
