From September 6 to 9, 2025, VIDEOFORMES presents Purple Rain by Aurélien Jeanney at the Pushinskaya 10 Art Center.
The Pushinskaya 10 Art Center is hosting the group exhibition “EcoArt,” in which Aurélien Jeanney is participating with his work Purple Rain. This exhibition explores the relationships between humans and so-called non-human agents. Viewers are invited to move beyond their familiar anthropocentric perspective and see the world through the eyes of other beings. The works focus on the relationships between humans, plants, animals, and insects; their social and creative potential; their emotional connections to the elements; and the lives of non-human agents in urban environments and mythological contexts.
Purple Rain is about four plant lovers, patiently waiting for the rain to bring their flowers to life. Augmented reality gives us a second narrative, a sequel to the image painted on the wall. Purple Rain doesn’t just decorate a wall, it’s a story of connection between man and nature, a story of wonder and contemplation. It invites passers-by to pause, to lift their eyes to the sky to admire the ephemeral beauty of purple rain, and to meditate on the transformative power of nature.
The artist: Aurélien Jeanney
Aurélien Jeanney est un directeur artistique et artiste pluridisciplinaire au sein de l’atelier Maison Tangible. Sa pratique traverse plusieurs champs et médiums, du graphisme à l’illustration, en passant par l’image animée ou la réalité augmentée. Maison Tangible, qu’il a fondé à Paris en 2015 est à la fois un atelier de création centré sur l’illustration, mais aussi une maison d’édition et un laboratoire d’expériences en réalité augmentée.
Son travail a été récompensé à l’international, notamment avec des prix au Canada (Grafika, Numix) ou en France (Cannes Lions). Lauréat d’une bourse de création du ministère de la Culture pour son projet “Les Voyages typographiques de Jules Verne”, puis d’une bourse du Centre National du Livre pour son projet “L’Invisible”, son travail est aujourd’hui exposé à l’international, notamment au Canada, au Brésil, en Inde ou encore en Lettonie.
