“Véronique Rizzo’s practice follows the original path of a pictoriality that explores the narratives and territories of the painting object as much as those of the experimental video film. The instability of her motifs explodes the manifest aims of the styles, assuming their contradictions. His reflexive approach of the history of the forms, makes them vibrate in the hope of a return to the utopian romantic projection, which would mean a radical return to the sensation. The coexistences of abstractions, the multiple shocks of images and the hermetic fictions, immerse the spectator in a saving hypnosis “.

A prolific artist, she began exhibiting in 1997 with her installation Petite Cosmologie at the Galerie du Tableau, Marseille. The exhibitions follow one another, collective as for Authentiques Résidents (la Friche la Belle de Mai, Marseille) in 2001, solo with PanopticonXXXX, (CAC Parvis in Tarbes) in 2008 in France, or abroad, here, Video Broadcasting Program, in Fed Square, Melbourne (Australia) in 2010.
Véronique Rizzo currently divides her time between her artist residency “VIDEOFORMES/DRAC d’Auvergne” at Michel de L’Hospital College in Riom, and in Marseille where she works in her studio, based at the Friche Belle de Mai.
