Installé au Chalet du Jardin Lecoq depuis le mois de novembre à l’occasion d’une résidence proposée par la Ville de Clermont-Ferrand, l’artiste portugais BRM présentera lors de ce VIDEOBAR, le projet vidéo gardens I.
Cette présentation sera suivie d’un temps de rencontre et d’échanges avec le public.
Ce VIDEOBAR est proposé en partenariat entre VIDEOFORMES et la Ville de Clermont-Ferrand.
Présentation du projet
L’installation et performance gardens I est le fruit de la résidence artistique de BRM, suite à un appel à candidatures lancé au sein du Réseau international des Villes Michelin et initié par la Ville de Clermont-Ferrand. Installé dans l’ancienne maison du gardien du Jardin Lecoq devenue résidence d’artistes, il a filmé et enregistré le son du jardin qui l’a entouré pendant plusieurs mois. Lors de cette sortie de résidence, il présentera une performance d’environ 30 minutes, qui inclut la manipulation en direct, la vidéo générative et le mixage sonore.
Le son est enregistré par Rafael Gonçalves Cardoso et mixé et produit par ALCRUD3.
Présentation de l’artiste
BRM (Bruno Rodrigues Martins) est un artiste travaillant sur les arts numériques, basé au Portugal, qui effectue actuellement une résidence artistique à Clermont-Ferrand. Son travail consiste en des performances ou des installations, où il explore la vidéo, le son et la lumière. En 2021, BRM a été choisi pour faire partie de l’exposition “We shall go to the future”, une exposition collective où 12 artistes émergents de la scène artistique portugaise ont été exposés. BRM est également l’un des principaux membres du collectif kindergarten.
La Chapelle de l’Oratoire
Depuis 2008, VIDEOFORMES soutient la création contemporaine émergente (locale, nationale et internationale) en faisant de la Chapelle de l’Oratoire, mise à disposition par la Ville de Clermont- Ferrand, un lieu de résidences et d’expositions dans le domaine des arts hybrides et numériques (vidéo, arts plastiques, musique, images, spectacle vivant, etc.). Les VIDEOBARS offrent aux artistes un espace d’expérimentation et de rencontre avec le public dans un cadre convivial propice aux échanges. Les performances présentées sont inédites et souvent ponctuelles, et peuvent allier l’art vidéo et d’autres disciplines artistiques.
Project presentation
This is the exhibition and result of BRM’s artistic residency following a call for applications by International Network of Michelin Cities, and initiated by the City of Clermont-Ferrand.
Living inside Jardin Lecoq for a few months, he filmed and recorded the sound of the garden, to be manipulated live in front of the audience.
A performance that includes live manipulation, generative video and sound mixing.

Presentation of the artist

He expresses his work through performances or installations, where he explores video, sound and light.
In 2021, BRM was chosen to be part of the exhibition ‘we shall go to the future’, a collective exhibition where the 12 most exciting new artists from the portuguese art scene were exhibited. BRM is also a core member of the kindergarten collective.
Chapelle de l’Oratoire
Since 2008, VIDEOFORMES has been supporting emerging local, national and international contemporary creation by using the Chapelle de l’Oratoire, made available by the City of Clermont-Ferrand, as a venue for residencies and exhibitions in the field of hybrid and digital arts (video, visual arts, music, images, live performance, etc.). VIDEOBARS offer artists a space for experimentation and encounters with the public, in a convivial setting. The performances presented are original and often unique, and may combine video art with other artistic disciplines.
